Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 100 grams
  • Tapioca flour - 30 grams
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Palm sugar - 50 grams
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Banana leaves - for wrapping

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, tapioca flour, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the coconut milk and water to the flour mixture, stirring until smooth and lump-free.
  3. In a saucepan, gently heat the palm sugar with a tablespoon of water until it dissolves completely, then mix it into the batter.
  4. Prepare small squares of banana leaves by cutting them into 10x10 cm pieces. Lightly steam the banana leaves to make them pliable.
  5. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the batter onto the center of each banana leaf square, then fold the edges over to create a small packet.
  6. Place the packets in a steamer and steam for about 20-25 minutes until the batter is fully cooked and set.
  7. Remove from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
