Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 150 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ripe mango - 1 medium
- Sesame seeds (for garnish) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer for about 25-30 minutes until cooked and sticky.
- While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, then remove from heat.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour about 100 ml of the coconut milk mixture over the rice. Stir well to combine and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Peel and slice the ripe mango into thin strips.
- To serve, place a generous portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top it with mango slices, and drizzle with the remaining coconut milk mixture. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish.
