Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 150 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ripe bananas - 2 medium
- Banana leaves (optional) - for wrapping
Steps
- Soak the glutinous rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a steamer for about 30 minutes until fully cooked and tender.
- In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves but do not bring to a boil.
- Slice the ripe bananas lengthwise into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.
- In a serving dish, layer half of the steamed sticky rice, followed by half of the coconut milk mixture. Add the sliced bananas on top.
- Add the remaining sticky rice and pour the rest of the coconut milk mixture over it.
- If using banana leaves, you can wrap the dessert for presentation. Allow it to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
