Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 150 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ripe mango - 1 medium (approximately 200 grams)
- Sesame seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- After soaking, drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer or a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth for about 25 minutes, or until the rice is translucent and fully cooked.
- While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour about 100 ml of the sweetened coconut milk mixture over it. Stir well to combine and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Peel the mango and slice it into thin wedges.
- To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, drizzle with the remaining coconut milk, and top with mango slices. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for added texture.
