- Mung beans - 100 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Rice flour - 50 grams
- Tapioca starch - 30 grams
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 250 ml
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Soak the mung beans in water for at least 2 hours or overnight, then rinse and drain.
- Steam the mung beans for about 20 minutes or until fully cooked, then mash them into a smooth paste.
- In a bowl, mix the rice flour, tapioca starch, sugar, salt, and water until smooth to create the batter.
- In a saucepan, heat the coconut milk over low heat until warm, then add half of it to the batter and mix well.
- Prepare a steaming tray or small cups by greasing them lightly. Pour a thin layer of the batter into the tray and steam for about 10 minutes until set.
- Spread the mung bean paste evenly over the steamed layer, then top with the remaining batter.
- Steam the entire mixture for another 25-30 minutes until fully cooked and firm.
- Let cool, then cut into squares and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
