Ingredients

  • Mung beans - 100 grams
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Rice flour - 50 grams
  • Tapioca starch - 30 grams
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 250 ml
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Soak the mung beans in water for at least 2 hours or overnight, then rinse and drain.
  2. Steam the mung beans for about 20 minutes or until fully cooked, then mash them into a smooth paste.
  3. In a bowl, mix the rice flour, tapioca starch, sugar, salt, and water until smooth to create the batter.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the coconut milk over low heat until warm, then add half of it to the batter and mix well.
  5. Prepare a steaming tray or small cups by greasing them lightly. Pour a thin layer of the batter into the tray and steam for about 10 minutes until set.
  6. Spread the mung bean paste evenly over the steamed layer, then top with the remaining batter.
  7. Steam the entire mixture for another 25-30 minutes until fully cooked and firm.
  8. Let cool, then cut into squares and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
