- Ground beef - 400 grams
- Fresh Thai basil leaves - 30 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red chili - 1, finely chopped
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Coconut aminos - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Lime - 1, juiced
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, chopped red chili, fish sauce, coconut aminos, salt, black pepper, and chopped Thai basil leaves. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cucumber salad by combining sliced cucumber, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and lime juice in a bowl. Toss to combine and set aside.
- Once the burgers are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the burgers with the cucumber salad on the side and garnish with additional Thai basil if desired.
