  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut aminos - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime - 1, juiced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, chopped red chili, fish sauce, coconut aminos, salt, black pepper, and chopped Thai basil leaves. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cucumber salad by combining sliced cucumber, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and lime juice in a bowl. Toss to combine and set aside.
  5. Once the burgers are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. Serve the burgers with the cucumber salad on the side and garnish with additional Thai basil if desired.
