Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Panang curry paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut cream - 100 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Cilantro - a handful, chopped
  • Peanuts - 30 grams, crushed (for topping)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Panang curry paste, minced garlic, grated ginger, fish sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the Panang sauce by combining coconut cream and an additional tablespoon of Panang curry paste in a small saucepan. Heat gently until warmed through, stirring to combine.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, place each beef patty in a large lettuce leaf, drizzle with the warm Panang sauce, and top with crushed peanuts and chopped cilantro.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and serve immediately.
