  • Lemongrass stalks - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Red chili - 1, finely sliced (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 20 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped lemongrass, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and vegetable oil to create the marinade.
  3. Add the cubed tofu to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated tofu onto skewers, alternating with slices of red chili if using.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the tofu is golden and has grill marks.
  7. Remove from the grill and let cool slightly before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
