Ingredients
- Sticky rice - 150 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Durian flesh - 100 grams
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional for garnish)
Steps
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the grains are translucent and tender.
- While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, but do not bring it to a boil.
- Once the rice is done, transfer it to a mixing bowl and pour about 150 ml of the sweetened coconut milk over it. Stir gently to mix and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top with durian flesh, and drizzle the remaining coconut milk over the top. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
