- Cooked Jasmine rice - 200 grams
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, grated
- Thai red chili - 1, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Thai sweet chili sauce - for serving
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the cooked Jasmine rice, cornstarch, chopped cilantro, green onion, grated carrot, chopped chili, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Divide the rice mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the rice patties in the pan.
- Fry each patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a crispy rice patty, sliced tomato, and cucumber. Drizzle with Thai sweet chili sauce.
- Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy!
