Ingredients
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Taro root - 100 g
- Agar-agar powder - 1 tsp
- Water - 200 ml
- Sugar - 2 tbsp
- Salt - a pinch
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
Steps
- Peel and dice the taro root into small cubes. Steam the taro for about 15 minutes or until tender.
- In a saucepan, combine the water, agar-agar powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil while stirring continuously until the agar-agar dissolves.
- Once the mixture is boiling, add the coconut milk and vanilla extract. Stir well and remove from heat.
- In a serving glass or bowl, layer the cooked taro cubes at the bottom.
- Pour the coconut mixture over the taro cubes until they are completely covered.
- Let the jelly cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
