Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g., cod or tilapia) - 300 grams
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Avocado, sliced - 1/2
  • Fresh lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato, sliced - 1 medium
  • Cucumber, sliced - 1/2
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine lime juice, minced garlic, red chili flakes, cilantro, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the white fish fillets to the marinade and let them sit for 15 minutes.
  3. While the fish is marinating, prepare the vegetables by slicing the avocado, tomato, and cucumber.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Remove the fish from the marinade and cook in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the same skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of the bun, followed by the cooked fish, sliced avocado, tomato, and cucumber.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
