- Coconut milk - 100 milliliters
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame seeds (toasted) - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped peanuts (optional) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, salt, and tied pandan leaves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and water is absorbed.
- While the rice is cooking, prepare the coconut sauce by combining coconut milk and sugar in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then remove from heat.
- Once the rice is done, remove the pandan leaves and fluff the rice gently with a fork.
- Serve the rice in bowls, drizzling the sweetened coconut milk over the top.
