Ingredients
- Fresh figs - 200 grams
- Almond flour - 150 grams
- Oats - 50 grams
- Maple syrup - 3 tablespoons
- Coconut oil - 3 tablespoons, melted
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Plant-based milk - 100 ml
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, oats, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Press the dough into a small tart pan evenly to create the crust. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, prepare the fig filling. Slice the fresh figs in half and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix the plant-based milk with lemon juice and let it sit for 5 minutes to curdle slightly.
- Once the crust is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Pour the plant-based milk mixture over the crust.
- Arrange the sliced figs on top of the milk mixture, cut side up.
- Drizzle a little more maple syrup over the figs for added sweetness if desired.
- Return the tart to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the figs are soft and the filling is set.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
