Ingredients

  • Pomegranate seeds - 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Milk - 100 ml
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
  6. Fold in half of the pomegranate seeds into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 20 cm (8-inch) tart pan and spread evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining pomegranate seeds on top of the batter.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the tart cool for 10 minutes before transferring it to a serving plate.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
