Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, softened
  • Granulated sugar - 30 grams
  • Egg yolk - 1
  • Ice water - 1 tablespoon
  • Dulce de leche - 150 grams
  • Heavy cream - 100 ml
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Pinch of salt - 1

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, egg yolk, and a pinch of salt. Mix until it resembles a crumbly dough.
  3. Add the ice water gradually and knead until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit a small tart pan (about 15 cm in diameter). Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.
  5. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  6. Remove the tart crust from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spread the dulce de leche evenly over the cooled crust.
  7. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  8. Spread the whipped cream over the dulce de leche layer, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  9. Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving.
