- Egg yolk - 1
- Ice water - 1 tablespoon
- Dulce de leche - 150 grams
- Heavy cream - 100 ml
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Pinch of salt - 1
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, egg yolk, and a pinch of salt. Mix until it resembles a crumbly dough.
- Add the ice water gradually and knead until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit a small tart pan (about 15 cm in diameter). Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.
- Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Remove the tart crust from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spread the dulce de leche evenly over the cooled crust.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the dulce de leche layer, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving.
