- Unsalted butter - 50 grams, cold and cubed
- Granulated sugar - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting (optional)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and granulated sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg and mix until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- While the dough is chilling, prepare the plums by mixing them with lemon juice and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit a 20 cm (8-inch) tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.
- Arrange the sliced plums evenly over the tart shell.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden and the plums are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
