Ingredients

  • Plums - 200 grams, pitted and sliced
  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, cold and cubed
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and granulated sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the egg and mix until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough is chilling, prepare the plums by mixing them with lemon juice and cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to fit a 20 cm (8-inch) tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.
  6. Arrange the sliced plums evenly over the tart shell.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden and the plums are tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
