Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate (70% cacao) - 100g
  • Unsalted margarine - 50g
  • Granulated sugar - 50g
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • All-purpose flour - 30g
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting) - optional

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and margarine together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined and slightly frothy.
  4. Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously until fully incorporated.
  5. Sift in the flour and gently fold until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Grease a small tart pan (approximately 20 cm) with margarine and pour the chocolate batter into the pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, slice, and enjoy!
