Ingredients

  • Serrano ham - 100 grams
  • Whole grain bread - 4 slices
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams
  • Fresh basil leaves - 10 leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Slice the whole grain bread into small rounds or squares, about 1 cm thick.
  3. Place the bread slices on a baking tray and lightly brush each with extra virgin olive oil.
  4. Toast the bread in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  5. While the bread is toasting, wash and halve the cherry tomatoes.
  6. In a bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for a few minutes.
  7. Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  8. Layer each piece of toasted bread with a slice of Serrano ham.
  9. Top the ham with the marinated cherry tomatoes and a basil leaf for garnish.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your Pulgas de Jamón.
