Ingredients
- Arborio rice - 100 grams
- Water - 500 milliliters
- Milk - 200 milliliters
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Almonds (sliced) - 20 grams
- Raisins - 30 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Rinse the Arborio rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed most of the water.
- Add the milk, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the cooked rice. Stir well and continue to cook over low heat for another 5 minutes, allowing the porridge to thicken.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Serve warm in bowls, topped with sliced almonds and raisins.
