Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Slice the red and yellow bell peppers into strips and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle the peppers with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Roast the peppers in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly charred.
  5. While the peppers are roasting, prepare the tomato sauce by heating the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add the minced garlic to the saucepan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  7. Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper, and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.
