Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Duck breast - 200 grams
  • Orange - 1 medium (juice and zest)
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Fresh arugula - 30 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Score the duck breast skin in a crisscross pattern and season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.
  4. In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Place the duck breast skin-side down and sear for about 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Remove from skillet and let it rest before slicing.
  5. In a bowl, mix the orange juice and zest with the remaining olive oil, then drizzle it over the rolled-out pizza dough.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza base, followed by the sliced red onion.
  7. Slice the duck breast into thin pieces and arrange it over the cheese and onions.
  8. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  9. Once out of the oven, top the pizza with fresh arugula and a final drizzle of orange juice if desired. Slice and serve immediately.
