- Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh rosemary - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Black pepper - to taste
- Vegan cheese - 100 grams (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- While the dough is rising, slice the onions thinly. In a pan over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and the sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Add balsamic vinegar, chopped rosemary, and black pepper to the onions, and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the vinegar evaporates.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness (about 0.5 cm).
- Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the caramelized onion mixture evenly on top. If using, sprinkle vegan cheese over the onions.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
