- Bell peppers - 2 large
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Cooked rice - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cheese (optional) - 50 grams, grated
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked rice, tomato sauce, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Stuff each bell pepper with the meat and rice mixture, packing it down slightly. Place the stuffed peppers upright in a baking dish.
- If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top of each stuffed pepper.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the peppers are tender and the cheese is golden.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
