- Spaghetti - 200 grams
- Extra virgin olive oil - 60 ml
- Garlic - 4 cloves, thinly sliced
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the garlic oil.
- Toss the pasta to coat in the garlic oil, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired sauce consistency is reached.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
