Ingredients

  • Dried figs - 200 grams
  • Almonds - 50 grams
  • Walnuts - 50 grams
  • Oats - 50 grams
  • Honey or agave syrup - 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Water - 100 ml

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, soak the dried figs in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften them.
  3. Drain the figs and chop them finely. Set aside.
  4. In a food processor, combine the almonds, walnuts, and oats. Pulse until they form a coarse flour.
  5. Add the chopped figs, honey or agave syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt to the processor. Blend until the mixture is well combined and sticky.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it down evenly with your hands.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until firm and slightly golden on the edges.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely in the dish before cutting into squares or bars.
  9. Serve at room temperature or slightly warmed.
