  • Dried figs - 200 grams
  • Walnuts - 50 grams
  • Almonds - 50 grams
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oats - 50 grams
  • Orange zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a small loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, soak the dried figs in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften them, then drain and chop them coarsely.
  3. In a food processor, combine the soaked figs, walnuts, almonds, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats, orange zest, and 100 ml of water. Blend until the mixture is well combined but still chunky.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cool, slice the fig bread into pieces and serve as desired.
