Ingredients

  • Green beans - 200 grams
  • Spanish cured ham (Jamón Serrano) - 50 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Wash and trim the green beans, removing the stem ends.
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the green beans. Blanch for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  3. Drain the green beans and immediately plunge them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain again after a few minutes.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss them in the garlic oil for about 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Slice the Jamón Serrano into small pieces and add it to the skillet, mixing well with the green beans.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
