Ingredients
- Green beans - 200 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
Steps
- Wash the green beans and trim the ends.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the green beans. Blanch for about 3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes, then drain again.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for an additional 5 minutes until the beans are heated through and slightly tender.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice. Toss to combine.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
