- Lean ground beef (90% lean) - 250 grams
- Whole grain burger buns - 2 pieces
- Fresh spinach - 50 grams
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1/2, sliced
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the beef mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, slice the whole grain buns in half and lightly toast them in a toaster or on a grill.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with fresh spinach, tomato slices, red onion, and avocado.
- Drizzle with lemon juice and top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
