Ingredients

  • Lean ground beef (90% lean) - 250 grams
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Fresh spinach - 50 grams
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the beef mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, slice the whole grain buns in half and lightly toast them in a toaster or on a grill.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with fresh spinach, tomato slices, red onion, and avocado.
  6. Drizzle with lemon juice and top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
