Ingredients

  • Octopus - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Freshly ground black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2 units
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4 small, thinly sliced
  • Lemon - 1, for juice
  • Aioli - 4 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 20 minutes until tender. Drain and let it cool.
  2. Once cooled, chop the octopus into bite-sized pieces and place it in a bowl.
  3. Add olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, sea salt, and black pepper to the chopped octopus. Mix well to combine.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the octopus mixture. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly crispy, stirring occasionally.
  5. While the octopus is cooking, toast the burger buns lightly on another skillet or in a toaster.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the crispy octopus. Top with sliced tomato, red onion, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and a generous dollop of aioli.
  7. Finish with the top half of the bun and serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.
