Ingredients

  • Ground goat meat - 250 grams
  • Goat cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Fig jam - 2 tablespoons
  • Arugula - 1 cup

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground goat meat, crumbled goat cheese, chopped parsley, thyme, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden crust.
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole grain burger buns on a separate pan or under the broiler until golden.
  5. Assemble the burgers by spreading fig jam on the bottom halves of the buns, adding a cooked patty, and topping with fresh arugula. Place the top halves of the buns on each burger.
  6. Serve immediately with a side salad or sweet potato fries, if desired.
