  • Chickpeas (cooked) - 100 grams

  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • Red onion - 50 grams, thinly sliced
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a food processor, combine the almonds, chickpeas, garlic, onion, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms.
  3. Shape the mixture into two patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  5. While the patties are cooking, slice the whole wheat buns and toast them in the oven for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked patty, tomato slices, avocado, red onion, and parsley.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
