  • Water - 500 milliliters
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Chickpeas (cooked) - 100 grams
  • Spinach (fresh) - 100 grams
  • Chopped fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the whole wheat flour to the pan, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes until it turns a light golden brown.
  3. Gradually add the water while continuing to stir to prevent lumps from forming.
  4. Stir in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing well.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
  6. Add the cooked chickpeas and fresh spinach to the pan, cooking for another 5 minutes until the spinach wilts.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
