  • Milk - 50 ml
  • Espresso (or strong coffee) - 30 ml
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Cocoa powder - for dusting (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat until just simmering, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour the hot cream mixture over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to melt the chocolate.
  4. Add the espresso and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, then whisk until smooth and well combined.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into serving glasses or bowls to remove any lumps.
