Ingredients
- Spanish chorizo sausage - 200 grams
- Ground beef (80% lean) - 200 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Sliced avocado - 1 medium
- Tomato slices - 1 medium
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sliced Manchego cheese - 2 slices
Steps
- Remove the casing from the chorizo and crumble it into a bowl.
- In the bowl, combine the crumbled chorizo with ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, making sure they are slightly larger than the buns since they will shrink while cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Manchego cheese on each patty, allowing it to melt.
- To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a large romaine lettuce leaf, top with avocado slices and tomato slices.
- Wrap the lettuce around the patty and secure with a toothpick if necessary. Serve immediately.
