Ingredients

  • Spanish chorizo sausage - 200 grams
  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 200 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Sliced avocado - 1 medium
  • Tomato slices - 1 medium
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sliced Manchego cheese - 2 slices

Steps

  1. Remove the casing from the chorizo and crumble it into a bowl.
  2. In the bowl, combine the crumbled chorizo with ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, making sure they are slightly larger than the buns since they will shrink while cooking.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Manchego cheese on each patty, allowing it to melt.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place each patty on a large romaine lettuce leaf, top with avocado slices and tomato slices.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the patty and secure with a toothpick if necessary. Serve immediately.
