- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cilantro (fresh coriander) - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Jalapeño pepper - 1, finely chopped (optional)
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Avocado - 1 small, diced (for serving)
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the diced fish with lime juice and lemon juice. Mix well, ensuring all the fish is coated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes, or until the fish is opaque.
- While the fish is marinating, prepare the other ingredients. Finely chop the red onion, dice the tomato, and chop the cilantro and jalapeño (if using).
- Once the fish is ready, add the chopped onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix gently to combine all ingredients.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice as needed.
- Serve the ceviche chilled, garnished with diced avocado and a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
