- Hake fillets - 200 grams
- Lime juice - 50 ml
- Orange juice - 30 ml
- Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Cucumber - 1 small, diced
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Cut the hake fillets into small, bite-sized pieces and place them in a glass bowl.
- Pour the lime and orange juice over the fish, ensuring all pieces are covered. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to marinate.
- While the fish is marinating, prepare the vegetables by finely chopping the red onion, dicing the tomato and cucumber, and chopping the cilantro.
- After 30 minutes, remove the fish from the refrigerator. The fish should be slightly opaque and firm to the touch.
- Add the diced tomato, cucumber, chopped cilantro, and olive oil to the marinated fish. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Gently mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Serve the ceviche chilled, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
