Ingredients

  • Fresh white fish (like cod or snapper) - 200 grams
  • Lime juice - 60 ml
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
  • Tomato - 1 medium, diced
  • Cucumber - 100 grams, diced
  • Jalapeño - 1 small, minced (optional for heat)
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large leaves (for wrapping)

Steps

  1. Dice the fresh fish into small cubes and place it in a bowl.
  2. Add lime juice to the fish, ensuring it is completely covered, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until the fish is opaque.
  3. While the fish is marinating, prepare the vegetables: finely chop the red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño, and dice the tomato and cucumber.
  4. Once the fish is marinated, drain any excess lime juice and add the chopped vegetables to the bowl. Mix gently to combine.
  5. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste, then drizzle with olive oil and mix again.
  6. To assemble the burger, place a large lettuce leaf on each plate. Spoon the ceviche mixture onto the lettuce leaves and top with sliced avocado.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the ceviche mixture and enjoy your refreshing ceviche burger!
