Ingredients

  • Octopus - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Almond flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Romaine lettuce - 4 leaves
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. Start by bringing a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and let cool.
  2. Once the octopus is cool enough to handle, chop it into small pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped octopus, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, almond flour, egg, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into two burger patties.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little olive oil. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. To assemble, place each patty on a romaine lettuce leaf, top with sliced avocado, tomato, and red onion. Serve immediately.
