Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 400 grams
  • Chickpea flour - 50 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
  • Whole grain burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce - 1 cup (shredded)
  • Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
  • Avocado - 1 medium (sliced)
  • Vegan mayo - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into small pieces, then boil them in salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes and mash them in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Add chickpea flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  4. Form the mixture into two patties of equal size.
  5. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Toast the whole grain burger buns in a toaster or on a pan until slightly crispy.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Top with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, avocado, and a dollop of vegan mayo. Cover with the top half of the bun.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
