Ingredients

  • Octopus - 300g
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Large lettuce leaves (e.g., Romaine) - 4 leaves
  • Cherry tomatoes - 6, halved
  • Avocado - 1, sliced

Steps

  1. Start by boiling a pot of salted water. Once boiling, add the octopus and cook for about 20 minutes until tender.
  2. While the octopus is cooking, prepare the marinade by mixing olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Once the octopus is cooked, drain and let it cool slightly before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Add the sliced octopus to the marinade and toss well to coat. Let it marinate for about 5-10 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, prepare the lettuce leaves by washing them thoroughly and patting them dry.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place a portion of the marinated octopus in the center of each lettuce leaf, top with cherry tomato halves and avocado slices.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the filling, securing it with a toothpick if necessary, and serve immediately.
