Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Warm water - 150 milliliters
  • Active dry yeast - 7 grams
  • Olive oil - 30 milliliters
  • Sugar - 5 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Halal chorizo - 100 grams, diced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil and the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by sautéing the diced halal chorizo in a pan over medium heat until slightly crispy. Remove from heat and let cool.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
  7. Place a spoonful of the chorizo filling in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a bun.
  8. Place the filled buns seam-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm.
