- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 milliliters
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Olive oil - 30 milliliters
- Sugar - 5 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Halal chorizo - 100 grams, diced
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil and the yeast mixture.
- Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by sautéing the diced halal chorizo in a pan over medium heat until slightly crispy. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle, about 10 cm in diameter.
- Place a spoonful of the chorizo filling in the center of each circle. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a bun.
- Place the filled buns seam-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm.
