Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Whole milk - 150 ml
  • Granulated sugar - 30 grams
  • Active dry yeast - 7 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 30 grams, melted
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - for sprinkling

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm milk with the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center and add the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms, then knead it on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them on a lined baking tray.
  6. Cover the shaped rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 15 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the tops of the rolls with a little milk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
