Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 200 grams
- cocoa powder - 30 grams
- sugar - 50 grams
- baking powder - 10 grams
- salt - 1 gram
- milk - 120 ml
- vegetable oil - 30 ml
- vanilla extract - 5 ml
- yeast - 5 grams
- water - 50 ml
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in 50 ml of warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the shaped dough balls with a cloth and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
