Ingredients

  • Crusty bread (such as baguette or ciabatta) - 2 pieces
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Slice the crusty bread in half lengthwise and lightly brush the cut sides with olive oil.
  3. Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. While the bread is toasting, chop the ripe tomatoes into thick slices and set aside.
  5. Finely chop the garlic and basil leaves.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the chopped garlic, basil, olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper to create a dressing.
  7. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and layer the tomato slices on the bottom half.

  10. Top with the other half of the bread, cut in half, and serve immediately.
