Ingredients

  • Baguette or crusty bread - 1 large
  • Manchego cheese - 100 grams, sliced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Roasted red peppers - 50 grams, sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh basil leaves - 5 leaves, torn
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Slice the baguette or crusty bread in half lengthwise.
  2. Drizzle the inside of both halves with olive oil.
  3. Layer the sliced Manchego cheese evenly on one half of the bread.
  4. Add the sliced tomato and roasted red peppers on top of the cheese.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Top with torn fresh basil leaves.
  7. Close the sandwich with the other half of the bread.
  8. Press down gently and cut the sandwich into two equal portions.
  9. Serve immediately, optionally with a side of olive oil for dipping.
