- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300g
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- Onion powder - 1/2 tsp
- Paprika - 1/2 tsp
- Olive oil - 1 tbsp
- Kosher pickles - 4 slices
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Ketchup - 2 tbsp
- Mustard - 1 tbsp
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix until just combined.
- Form the beef mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, slice the whole wheat burger buns in half and toast them lightly on a separate pan or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top each patty with 2 slices of kosher pickles, a slice of tomato, and a leaf of lettuce.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of ketchup and 1/2 tablespoon of mustard on the top half of each bun, then place it on top of the assembled burger.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side, such as sweet potato fries or a salad.
