Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 300 grams
  • Zaatar spice blend - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves, minced - 2
  • Red onion, finely chopped - 50 grams
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Tomato, sliced - 1
  • Cucumber, sliced - 1/2
  • Greek yogurt - 50 grams

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, zaatar spice blend, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Preheat a grill or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the turkey burgers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 74°C.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  5. Once the burgers are done, assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a toasted bun, and topping with sliced tomato, cucumber, and a dollop of Greek yogurt.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your Zaatar Turkey Burgers!
