Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Zaatar spice mix - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams (for sauce)
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Romaine lettuce - 2 leaves

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the minced garlic, zaatar, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into burger-sized patties and coat them in the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the Greek yogurt sauce by mixing it with a pinch of salt and some extra zaatar if desired.
  4. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated chicken patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through and golden brown.
  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill pan for 1-2 minutes until lightly crispy.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a chicken patty on each bun, topping it with the Greek yogurt sauce, cucumber slices, tomato, and romaine lettuce.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
